Crysis 2 delayed by one year
Is it that EA playing with the patience of fans?
The answer is YES.
Electronic Arts announced that crysis 2 will be delayed for a whole year. Gamers has to wait until 2011 fall to play Crysis 2.
Why the game is being delayed is not known. Electronic Arts is not discussing things either as to why they are holding Crysis 2 so long. According to them, the company wants to enhance the 3D visuals.
Well, it does not seems that this is the real reason. Hoever, the company will be updating with their financial briefing soon.
As of now EA had announced that the compnay had swung into profit during first quarter of 2010 and it had made $96 million after eleven quarters in the red.
Crysis 2 arriving this Autumn
The mega blockbuster game of Crytek and Electronic Arts, Crysis 2, was expected to be launched this holiday season, end of the year.
A new report comes that the game is arriving in Autumn this year. This was confirmed from the ad by EA. So, all the fans of Crysis 2 is now going to wait little less.
New CRYEngine 2 is being used by Crytek for developing the new game. The game will also hit the consoles this time, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2.
Richard Morgan, the award winning sci-fi novel writer, is busy writing the Crysis 2 stories, which is suppose to happen in the urban settings of New York.
We can hope the video of Crysis 2 at the E3 Expo 2010. It is going to start in couple of days.
Electronic Arts looking ahead for Crysis 3
Electronic Arts has a believe that the new series Crysis 2 will be a Halo-Killer. It seems that EA has too much of faith on the franchises. Everyone likes to see it flourish.

There is a debate whether the multiple Crysis games is supposed to be called as Cryses or Crysises. Well, this debate may continue, but when David DeMartini, the boss of EA Partners was recently asked about his wish to have Crysis 3, Crysis 4 or Crysis 5 titles with EA then he responded it affirmatively.
DeMartini said, “Absolutely, yes.”
He further added, “I’m confident we’ll continue to have that series and that relationship. We continue to fulfil what we promised [Crytek] and, as I said, they are fantastic partners and incredibly loyal.”
What DeMartini said about the Crytek? Here is his quote:
“With regards to our ongoing relationships with Crytek and future Crysis games — absolutely,” he stated. “We’re always very interested in anything that they’re doing. But the nature of our relationship with them is — to some degree — unwritten loyalty to each other..”
Latest Crysis 2 box art released
Few days before the updated set of box art pics of Crysis 2 was seen everywhere on the web though there has been no official release of it.
There are two interesting things of the art pics. One is that they are once again opting for a mature rated title which will be again not good with children. The second thing is that it will not be running on games for the windows exclusively as we had seen in the first one.

Crysis 2 set in version of New York City
The forthcoming Crysis 2 of Crytek is not set in tropical environment. It is set in a version of New York City under the attack from the aliens. Recently this news has been emerged.

Gary Steinman, editor of the Official PlayStation Magazine, revealed this news on his Twitter feed. There he also showcased the Crysis 2 cover feature of the magazine.
Last year Publisher EA confirmed that Crysis 2 will be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and also on PC.
They also gave indication that this new sequence will be made available in the fiscal year 2010-11.
The US PC Gamer however claimed recently that this game is likely to be released in December 2010.
‘Crysis 2’ and ‘Dead Space 2’ to be out in the market before March 2011.
Till now it was well known that work was being done on “Dead Space 2”. Everyone knows that several people were working on the game. But, as far as ‘Crysis 2’ is concerned, it was not known if work was being done on the game. But, now EA has declared that both the games would be released in this calendar year. They have not declared it officially, but they have put both the games on their release calendar which automatically indicates that both the games would be released by March 2011.

According to the CEO of EA, John Riccitiello, as told by him to the investors at a conference yesterday night, EA will release a new version of ‘Medal Of Honor’ a much better ‘Need For Speed’, a more innovative ‘Madden’, ‘Crysis2’, ‘Dead Space 2’ and the much awaited World Cup special ‘FIFA’.
The fans of both the games are extremely excited but it is difficult to tell if the current hardware can support ‘Crysis 2’.
The announcement of the new ‘Need For Speed’ has got the fans excited but some might want to have ‘NBA JAM’ on the list instead of ‘Need For Speed’. But, it is still possible that EA can come out with this game in 2010.
EA says Crysis 2 on consoles will set the bar

Finally Crysis is coming to consoles. Crytek has said it to bring it with the sequel due to appear on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The publisher of the game, EA, says that it will be “as good as anything.”
General manager of EA, David Demartini, said that the company will only go to a platform when they have something which is as good as anything in the gaming industry.
The Electronic Arts said recently with a tease that “consumers can look forward to is them setting a new bar against any game whatsoever on those platforms.”
Previously there was an interview from Crytek CEO Cervat Yervil where he said that that the company told EA “we’re trying to make the best game possible on consoles – let’s do that, let’s research it.” Now judging from what has been earlier said, it looks that the company is onto something special.
It was also mentioned in that interview the developing for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It was mentioned that delivering the best game on PC, on 360, and for the PS3 market.
Yerli says all asked him why they are not going to consoles
It is a fact that all console gamers wait for years for the Crysis series to make its much-awaited living room debut. The E3 conference last week announced that the German developer’s signature series will be available in stores for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. These were the part of the EA Partners program.

In a recent interview after the announcement, the CEO and president of Crytek, Cevat Yerli and the GM of EA, David DeMartini explained the reasons of releasing the game on multiplatform.
Yerli said, “It’s a question of more than economics. At the end of the day we’re paying salaries and we all have to live, but that’s one side of this job. But most importantly and a bit more tangible to us are the families, the nephews, and sons who ask, ‘Why aren’t you going to consoles?”
He further added that it is a kind of like bothering people. The developer and publisher has been asked several time in the last 3 or 4 years. Yerli also insists that the company will not be committing to a console Crysis 2 unless it would sustain the established reputation with the benchmark-setting efforts such as Crysis and Far Cry.
Crysis 2 to be launched on Xbox 360 and PS3
The Crysis 2 will also by launch for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In 2008 the President of Crytek, Cevat Yerli, blamed that a high levels of piracy for the company’s decision to stop developing exclusively for the PC. According to Cevat, the games released on consoles “sell factors of 4-5 more.

He also said that the development of this new Crysis 2 game marks a major stepping stone for the studio of Crysis. Crysis 2 is not only the next game in the franchise of Crysis , but it is also the first title that are being developed for consoles and also the first title being built on CryEngine 3. Cevat also mentioned that they are excited to have the support of EA Partners again as they work together to make the launch of Crysis 2 a huge event.
EA Partners General Manager David DeMartini said, “Nothing speaks more to the success of the EA Partners program than when a studio the caliber of Crytek continues to work with us.” He also said that Crytek is already one of the elite PC development studios in the world.
