Crysis Warhead is a new chapter of Crytek, Crysis producers. Developers reassure gamers that this game will not be tied to the purchase of Crysis as some speculated.

Crysis Warhead is the first commercially produced game from the house of Crytek and is based on the same graphics engine of Crysis, CryEngine 2, which has been more enhanced on this occasion.

The director of Crytek promises further improvements to be able to create a product that can appeal to all gamers across the world. During the game your character will be that of the Psycho, the British soldier.

As the game will progress and you go forward, the plot will highlight the details of the story of Psycho and discover new places where life will be even more intense and frantic. Lots of innovative multiplayer modes and excellent graphics are the key strengths of this product and is a must play for all gamers.

In terms of gameplay, Crysis Warhead has everything of Crysis

The water lapping in the beach as the sun filters smooth between the palms, in a dawn that seems eternal. Yet, despite this gentle invitation to the peace of the senses, this time we’ll deal with armies and hordes of aliens, trying to leave no soul behind us.

This is the basic concept of Crysis, one of the most discussed games of last season. Loved and hated, heavily criticized for its excessive hardware requirements but complete with an aesthetic impact that few can boast and after one year update, with stand-alone expansion, Warhead shows us the story from the point of view of a Psycho, i.e. a British soldier.

The yield of audio is very good, with powerful sound effects that can add value to the atmosphere of the clashes. In terms of gameplay, Warhead takes everything that we found in Crysis, with a few little tricks. To compete against the cold for Warhead Aliens, it requires minimum a processor of 2.6 Ghz, 1024 MB of volatile memory, a 128 MB video card compatible with Pixel Shader 2.0, 12 GB disk space, mouse , keyboard, dvd 8x and an Internet connection for activation.

Till now it was well known that work was being done on “Dead Space 2”. Everyone knows that several people were working on the game. But, as far as ‘Crysis 2’ is concerned, it was not known if work was being done on the game. But, now EA has declared that both the games would be released in this calendar year. They have not declared it officially, but they have put both the games on their release calendar which automatically indicates that both the games would be released by March 2011.

According to the CEO of EA, John Riccitiello, as told by him to the investors at a conference yesterday night, EA will release a new version of ‘Medal Of Honor’ a much better ‘Need For Speed’, a more innovative ‘Madden’, ‘Crysis2’, ‘Dead Space 2’ and the much awaited World Cup special ‘FIFA’.

The fans of both the games are extremely excited but it is difficult to tell if the current hardware can support ‘Crysis 2’.

The announcement of the new ‘Need For Speed’ has got the fans excited but some might want to have ‘NBA JAM’ on the list instead of ‘Need For Speed’. But, it is still possible that EA can come out with this game in 2010.

Piracy Hurts PC-Only Games

It is widely known that Crysis 2 will be made available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game has more potential sales but still there is another pressing reason that Crytek went this direction.

Recently in an interview the Director of Business Development and Engine Licensing for Crytek, Carl Jones, said some of the most important things about the process of delivering Crysis 2 to the console owners. When he was about the new CryEngine 2 and also about the licensing that went along with it, he said that licensing a PC-only engine was difficult in the last few years because of the changing nature of the market.

He also added further that piracy hurt PC-only games in terms of sales figures too much. For this reason the developers and publishers have moved away from making such titles.

Carl Jones mentioned more: “As a result, console middleware was more widespread than PC focused technology such as CryENGINE® 1 and 2, but we have had some great successes and developers are working on great looking games that will launch soon, that started out on earlier versions of CryENGINE®. We’re happy with the quality we achieved, but circumstances limited the quantity of licensees we signed up. That won’t be an issue with CryENGINE® 3!”

Nathan Camarillo, the executive producer said, “We are applying our expertise to a new style of “jungle” which we will discuss more in the upcoming months, but it is definitely far from tropical.”

He also added further, “We are very excited to introduce Crysis-style sandbox gameplay to a different, yet ultimately familiar environment.”

He mentioned that this new games’ environments will be having increased verticality over the original one. The enemy AI will be re-built around the new environments.

Crysis technology is the best

July 23, 2009 · Filed Under crysis warhead · Comment

Crysis is of course an extraordinary if we talk in matters of technology. It features appropriate console commands and also the right set of hardware in which the game runs at resolutions that are even beyond all Donwsampling possibilities. PC Games Hardware explains how it works.

Both, the Crysis and Crysis Warhead, gives gamers the option of changing the screen resolution through console commands. In this gamers get more possibilities than offered in the video options.

If gamers enter certain number of pixels which is higher than the native resolution of their systems display then the engine downsamples the picture.

Let me explain it in a simpler way. If gamers run Crysis with 3,360 x 2,100 pixels on their 21 or 22 inch display then the game is visualized with pure 2×2 (4x) Supersampling Anti Aliasing.

Discipline Kept Crysis Away from Consoles says Demartini

June 26, 2009 · Filed Under crysis warhead · Comment

Cevat Yerli last year said that his company was no longer working on PC exclusive titles. This was mainly because of the piracy plaguing the platform.

The company took time to actually come up with a project, which would arrive on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in addition to the PC. The new project is Crysis 2. It has no release window at the moment. The gamers only got a short look at the E3 trade show.

There is a good question regarding this. Why did Crytek wait until now? We know that the company has brought a game like Crysis Warhead to gaming consoles as well as the PC.

The answer to this may be a simple word, “discipline.” This has been stated by David Demartini, the general manager of Electronic Arts Partners.

He told, “have a reputation for not going to a platform just to exploit the platform, but they go to the platform when they have something that’s as good as anything in the industry, if not the best on that platform, so I think what consumers can look forward to is them setting a new bar against any game whatsoever on those platforms.”
